Wear It Pink 2024

Ahead of our Wear it Pink Day (this Thursday!) We thought it was important to share some information on the significance of Breast Cancer Awareness month.

Wear it Pink Day is a way to spread awareness and raise money to fund life-changing breast cancer research. Breast Cancer Now is the UK’s largest breast cancer charity steered by world-class research.

Everyone is encouraged to wear pink and donate (if you are able) to Breast Cancer Now.

Sadly, more than 55,000 people are diagnosed with breast cancer each year in the UK, and breast cancer can affect people of all genders and ages. That is why it is extremely important to know the symptoms of breast cancer and how to self-examine. It is important that if you notice any changes you speak with your GP and if in doubt, get it checked out.

If breast cancer is found and diagnosed early, it can be treated successfully – this is why it is so important to check your chest monthly!

Busting Some Myths about Breast Cancer:

  • There is no evidence that deodorant causes breast cancer.
  • Wearing a wired bra will not increase your risk of breast cancer.
  • Research shows that mobile phones do not cause cancer.

To learn more about Breast Cancer Awareness the charities Breast Cancer Now and CoppaFeel have full information on their websites. Additionally, there is a BBC documentary following Strictly’s Amy Dowden’s battle with breast cancer. Many brands also support Breast Cancer Awareness Month through collaborations with CoppaFeel! and Breast Cancer Now. Their campaign work is vital in encouraging, educating, and empowering the community to become more knowledgeable!
