Wills

Who needs a Will?

A Will is one of the most important estate planning documents you can have. We would urge everyone to consider making a Will, regardless of the value of your assets. Whatever your estate planning needs, we can assist you.

Creating a Will allows you to formalise your wishes for how your estate is managed following your death. In doing so, a Will provides certainty and comfort for loved ones.

Important issues to consider, and which your Will can cover, include:

  • Funeral wishes
  • Guardians for minor children
  • Providing for and protecting “blended” families
  • Uneven distributions between family members
  • Delaying inheritance beyond your death
  • Inheritance Tax planning
  • Protecting your wealth for future generations
  • Excluding beneficiaries
  • Managing gifts for vulnerable beneficiaries
  • The use of Will Trusts

Have you registered your Will?

We can now register your Will for you and there may be a small registration charge.

Why should I register my Will?

The majority of people (67% in a recent survey) would not know where to locate their parents’ Wills. The passage of time, house moves, and new relationships are all contributing factors to this statistic. If your Will is deemed lost, or indeed never written, your loved ones and benefactors are exposed to potential financial loss and additional stress at an already difficult time.

We hold your Will safely, but we digitally record its location on the National Wills Register so that benefactors can always locate it when the time comes.
