Harvey Barrett has over 40 years’ experience. He began his distinguished legal career after graduating from the University of Exeter with a degree in Economics and completing his Law Society examinations. Harvey spent three years in Bermuda where he was a trust attorney and barrister (called to the bar in 1987) advising almost exclusively on offshore trusts. In 1989, he joined Furley Page specifically to lead and develop the firm’s Trusts and Estates team. Over the decades that followed, Harvey earned a reputation for exceptional technical expertise, sound judgement, and a calm, client‑focused approach that made him a trusted adviser to generations of families.
Although Harvey officially retired in 2022, his deep knowledge of private client work and the strong professional bond he formed with Managing Partner Alexandra Gordon during their years working together at Furley Page, proved too valuable to leave behind. Thanks to that enduring relationship, Harvey was enticed out of retirement and now works with us a couple of days each week.
Harvey serves as our “fount of knowledge,” providing guidance drawn from more than forty years of experience. His role includes mentoring and training our paralegals, helping to shape the next generation of private client professionals with his unrivalled understanding of trusts, estates, and lifetime planning.
